Successful Homeschooling: What if…

What if, by the time you finish teaching your kids…
they are kind.
They are confident.
They look people in the eye when spoken to.
They befriend the new kid.

Table of Contents (Because we all skim—no shame here.) Peek Inside
1 What If…
2 What If They Could…
3 What If They Grew Into This:
4 What If They Still Chose People?
5 What If They Still Loved Jesus?

What if that was enough?

Because somewhere between math worksheets and messy science experiments, we forget that this is what we were after all along — not perfect transcripts or grade-level checklists, but kids who know how to love, work hard, and live well.

What If…

They put down their phones when others are in the room.
They are strong and hardworking.
They know how to cook, chop wood, and change the oil on a car.
They are compassionate and caring.
They love to read and devour the written word.
They never text and drive.

What if they chase down information when something sparks their curiosity?
Balance a checkbook.
Build a budget.
Break a big goal into small steps — and actually follow through.
Keep a calendar.
Create a PowerPoint presentation and share their ideas with courage.

That’s not “extra credit.”
That’s the foundation of adulthood.

What If They Could…

Take instruction without crumbling.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide — whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Measure accurately with tools that don’t glow or beep.
Handle disappointment with grace.
Lose with dignity and win with humility.

What if they were the kind of young people others trust — not because they’re perfect, but because they show up, keep their word, and work hard even when no one’s watching?

What If They Grew Into This:

They pass along compliments — “my dad taught me that.”
They manage a small business, like lawn care, with integrity.
They put things back where they found them.
They understand that a great team is worth its weight in gold.
They master the art of harmony — working together, blending talents for the greater good.

What if they were self-sacrificing with their time?
Dependable in a pinch.
Uncomplaining when folding laundry, running errands, or picking up dog poop.
What if they became experts at something — art, music, coding, gardening, writing — because they stuck with it long enough to get good?

What If They Still Chose People?

They write legibly.
They visit face-to-face.
They pick up the phone.
They text when it’s needed, not when it’s easiest.
They value life and place the highest value on loving God and others.
They stay informed. They stay involved. They open doors, honor elders, and make time for small children.

What if they rejoiced when others succeeded?
Ran toward the right thing, even when afraid?
Knew the only two kinds of information are what they already know and what they can learn?
And they weren’t afraid of learning hard things?

What if they knew the difference between wants and needs, refused to live in debt, and worked hard to build a life of freedom and purpose?
What if they were the first to volunteer — and the last to leave when the work was done?

What If They Still Loved Jesus?

That’s the dream, isn’t it?

Not that they ace every subject.
Not that they get into every college.
But that their hearts stay soft, their hands stay ready, and their faith stays real.

Homeschooling was never just about academics. It was about raising humans who reflect light in a world that’s forgotten where to look.

So take a deep breath, mama.
You’re doing holy work here.

Because what if… they still love Jesus?
Then you’ve done the most important thing of all.
