Julia was sitting in front of the computer jumping from facebook groups to Google, and back to Facebook groups getting more and more frazzled. As a new mom, she was doing what all new moms do today… searching for tips, tricks, and solutions to her problem.

She was desperate to be a great mom, and she felt like she was in over her head. So she put on her “happy face” and searched the internet for answers.

My gray hair already knew the rest of the story.

As she searched and asked, she got more confused, more overwhelmed and her husband, Alex,  became concerned. “Honey, instead of going all over the internet to find information, pick ONE site to go. A Site that you trust, and get all your information there.”

Julia exhaled, “That doesn’t exist.”

Alex kept walking, “That’s stupid. We should build it,” and then he left the room in time to miss Julia snort.

A couple months went by and Alex said, “Hey remember that one stop parent thing we talked about?” (Funny how a single sentence was remembered as a conversation)

Alex said, “That’s the business we’re gonna build- I have a complete plan.”

Alex’s plan?

A Shared Revenue Model that would accomplish two major goals.

1. Make parenting easier with ONE easy to navigate parenting platform
2. Help make a real difference in people’s lives by sharing their revenues with them so that they can give their kids the best life possible.

That’s how Kidazzler was born.

• Out of desperation.
• A mom’s desire to be the best mom possible and a husband’s desire and vision to help her and then other families like theirs.

I spent an hour on the phone with Julia. As a mom and blogger, I had a problem and I knew she was the only one to help me.

“I said, I understand the basics of how you set Kidazzler up: A free parent directory/website for family friendly businesses and services, but I need to know more. I NEED to know your story, your passion, your mission behind this whole thing.

Too many moms are listening to me for me to chase some rabbit into left field…

By the end of the conversation, we were both almost in tears and I was shaking. 

So many moms and dads desperately looking for the right doctor, the best diaper, the most affordable magician.

So many moms staring at the empty milk jug and then realizing payday is still 3 days away.  

~Too many families who need to choose between staying home with their sick daughter and keeping their job.

So with the desperate mom, the struggling family in mind, they decided right there before any piece of the puzzle was assembled that they would share revenue with all the parents who help make Kidazzler become what they imagine it will be.

I was so blown away with everything I heard “from the horse’s mouth, but Julia said something that stopped me in my tracks and made me give her my husband’s name so when they can afford him, they will call him for computer security help.

Julia, I keep hearing people say, “This sounds like a scam.”

She said, “I know. We hear that too, but the way to fight darkness is with light.”

The only frivolous thing Bob did was take a few dollars each month and invest in the stock market. 

I remember my mom telling me Bob bought her friend a new Cadillac… CASH.
Then MOM snorted.

The only thing Bob ever splurged on in his marriage before was buying a few stocks every month.
He’d invest in small companies nobody else had real interest in… Then MOTOROLA and APPLE went public and Bob bought a Cadillac. And everyone else scrambled.

I know you don’t need a Caddy, but you might need milk.

I am not!

I am a homeschool mom with kids that didn’t learn to read until after all their peers.
My house in never spotless.
Sometimes I get mad over a stupid game.
By the time a commercial is over I’ve forgotten what I’m watching.
I may have 30 pounds I ned to lose.
I am easily distracted.

But I do:
Have a wonderful husband and five amazing kids.
