EXPERIENCE FIRST: (Ex. for Waterfall unit)

Consider visiting waterfalls, or rivers and creeks with little rapids with your kids or students. Let them gasp at the beauty, soak in the surroundings, listen to the ripple or roar of the water and feel the spray on their face. (If not in person, online… Surprise them with a mist setting on a spray bottle)

This unit will supplement that experience of the falls.

OBJECTIVE:

  • To lead kids into God’s creation and BEHOLD the beauty of His imagination.
  • To allow WONDER to become the inspiration of learning
  • To Dive deep into Scripture to see what the Lord reveals to our hearts through nature.
  • To fall in love with the word of God and marvel at His creation

There are a wide variety of activities included in each unit.

Pro tips: How to get your kids to fall in LOVE with learning.

  • Visit or OBSERVE first without hinting that there will be a learning activity attached. Bring food:).
  • You be a secretary and create a KWL Chart (included): What do they ALREADY KNOW about the topic? What do they WANT TO KNOW?
  • Hand pick, or let the kids choose, activities and projects that help them satisfy their natural curiosity
  • When they fall in LOVE with learning about, exploring, or touching this area of God’s Creation… allow them to continue searching for MORE…

Duration: Varies depending on child’s interest or the need for learning activities.

  • 1-2 Days: Experience first, then complete 1-2 activities.
  • Week: Experience first, then complete 3-4 activities.
  • Month or longer: Experience first, then complete 1-2 activities a week… chasing natural curiosity and enthusiasm.
